A lot happened in 2022. Kim K fell for Pete Davidson (briefly), Selena and Hailey became besties, Julia Fox was everybody's muse, and Harry Styles supposedly spat (ew) on Chris Pine. While all this was happening, the Princess Polly team was working behind the scenes on something a little more… wholesome. To balance out the chaotic energy of 2022, we’re sharing with you a yearly snapshot of our sustainability, community and environment-focused achievements, as told through the most iconic pop culture moments of last year (plus or minus some iconic movie memes because why not).
YOUR FAVE STYLES, BUT BETTER
We’re dedicated to sourcing your favorite styles using lower impact materials. What does this mean exactly? Your Princess Polly wardrobe staples look and feel the same as always but are now made with materials that aren’t as resource heavy on our earth. Switching from conventional materials to their lower impact counterparts such as recycled, forest-friendly or water-based materials means we’ve kept the quality, but dialed back on the impact. Win-win!
DONATED $550,000+ TO OUR CHARITY PARTNERS
We were privileged to work with some incredible charities last year, including Lonely Whale, The Butterfly Foundation, Thread Together, Born This Way Foundation and Stepping Stone House. We released our first ever charity capsule in partnership with Lonely Whale which raised $35,000+ to support their mission of a plastic-free ocean. Our teams notched up 490+ volunteer hours with a key highlight being the work we did with Stepping Stone House at their Sleep Under the Stars fundraiser. Together, we helped raise over $40,000 to support their mission of providing shelter and resources to young Australians experiencing homelessness.
In total, we donated and fundraised $550,000+ to our charity partners and will continue to donate a minimum of $500,000 each year.

DIVERTED 60% OF WASTE FROM LANDFILL
As part of our mission to lower our environmental impact, we ramped up recycling and composting waste globally. We snatched up discarded fabrics that were about to be sent to landfill and said “hey, we can use that!”. And so, we did. Not only did we reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill by 60% in December, but we helped prevent brand new fabrics from being created. How? Because we’re using things that already exist! It’s a win-win.
LAUNCHED OUR USA RESALE SITE
At Princess Polly, we want to help you make the most out of your clothes. On top of providing washing instructions, care guides and tips and tricks, we wanted a place for you to go when it comes time to part ways with your pre-loved pieces. So, we launched our Resale Site! Here, you can buy and sell second-hand Princess Polly styles all in one place. We love bringing you the latest looks, but we also love helping you lower your environmental impact. If you’re in the US, you can check out our Resale Site here. AU fam, your resale site is coming very soon!
NYLON THAT’S BETTER FOR THE PLANET
Buttery soft, body sculpting, on-trend wardrobe essentials; but make it lower impact. Our game changing recycled nylon blended fabric is created with waste that would have otherwise ended up in landfill. Waste not, want not and look hot? This lower impact nylon uses fewer emissions than virgin nylon, turning heads like Hailey and Selena since ‘22 ;)
TRACED 100% OF OUR TIER 2 SUPPLY CHAIN
We value transparency and we know you do too. In 2022, our Social Responsibility team traveled to India and China to visit our manufacturing sites and fabric mills. They were able to watch and participate in the creation of your clothes and see how the designs on your graphic tees are printed! Last year, we also expanded our team to include our first China-based Social Responsibility Representative - a dedicated onsite resource who supports factory ethics. In 2023, we’re tracing our cotton garments the whole way back to the farm. Watch this space!
REDUCED THE CO2 EMISSIONS OF OUR TRANSPORT BY 41%
We are well on our way to reaching our goal of being completely carbon neutral by 2030. In one year, we’ve reduced our upstream transport carbon emissions by 41% and made our global offices and distribution centers entirely carbon neutral. We’ve reported our progress to the Carbon Disclosure Project and are continuing to find better, more sustainable ways to reduce our emissions, without compromising our fast and reliable delivery.
EXPANDED OUR CURVE RANGE & LAUNCHED TALL AND PETITE
We’ve always been passionate about providing clothes that everybody feels comfortable wearing. In 2022, we made it a priority to expand our Curve range and design a Tall & Petite range. We are constantly looking for ways to be more inclusive, both in our marketing and in our size offerings. We will continue to add more styles to these collections to ensure Princess Polly is an inclusive space for all.
LAUNCHED OUR DIVERSITY, INCLUSION AND BELONGING COUNCIL
Everybody at Princess Polly deserves to feel empowered. To help us ensure that this is a reality, we launched our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Council (DIB). Our DIB council is responsible for highlighting areas that need improvement, initiating new DIB campaigns and promoting our values in all aspects of our business. Princess Polly is a safe space for everybody and we want our employees and our customers to know (and feel) that.
SOURCED MORE SUSTAINABLE SEQUINS
In efforts to make our product ranges more sustainable, we removed sequins from all collections due to their environmental impact. With no alternatives in sight, our design team went on the hunt. And then (drum roll please)...recycled sequins came to be! We know how much you loved our dramatic sequin styles and we’re happy to say that they’re back and better than ever. Created from discarded materials that would have otherwise ended up in landfill, these new and improved sequin styles are quickly becoming a new fave.
That’s a wrap on our 2022 achievements! We’re so excited to share with you what we accomplish in 2023. We couldn’t do it without you. Love, the Princess Polly team.
